Different Ways to Cook
Stove top:
Measures:
Pre-soaked Millet - 1: 1.5 (Millet:Water)
Not soaked Millet - 1: 2-2.5 (Millet:Water)
Procedure:
- Add washed millet and water to a cooking pot
- Boil for 5 minutes in high flame
- Reduce flame and cook for 8 minutes for pre-soaked (10-13 minutes for not soaked)
- Switch off flame and let it rest for 10 minutes
- Fluff it up with a fork and enjoy!
Instant Pot:
Measures:
Pre-soaked Millet - 1: 1.25 (Millet:Water)
Not soaked Millet - 1: 1.75 (Millet:Water)
Procedure:
- Add washed millet, water, 1 tsp of oil to the instant pot
- Close lid and set valve to Sealing position
- Set HIGH Pressure for 4 minutes for pre-soaked millet (8 minutes for not soaked)
- Let it to Normal Pressure Release
- Fluff it up with a fork and enjoy
Pressure Cooker
Measures:
Pre-soaked Millet- 1: 1.25 (Millet:Water)
Not soaked Millet- 1: 1.75 (Millet:Water)
Procedure:
- Add washed millet, water, 1 tsp of oil to the pressure cooker
- Close lid and let it for 1 to 2 whistles for pre-soaked millet (2-3 whistles for not soaked millet)
- Allow steam to naturally release.
- Fluff it up with a fork and enjoy!
